Rowing Shell Cover Repair good deal
This works pretty well. I had a busted zipped due to an accident, and some holes from my car-top carrier bolts. They replaced all zippers, sewed patches over the holes with the same Sunbrella material, and changed out both ends with new reflective material. It's good as new and much less expensive than a new cover. Shipping costs to get it to New Hampshire for me were $52 USPS, so you should consider that as well, but it's still a better option than purchasing a new cover.

Rowing Shell Cover
I’ve bought five Burnham boat and rigger covers over the years. My oldest is over ten years old and still looks and works great. I baby my Empacher shells. So, a great cover is very important to me, especially when avoiding road debris when transporting to regattas. I highly recommend Burnham.

I am so happy with my single boat cover repair. I am an anomaly in the rowing world in that I don't have the luxury of rowing out of a boat house. I car top to 2 nearby lakes about 3 times per week and I would not think of transporting without a boat cover. I bought my boat used with a Burnham cover in 2011, so even with approximately 3 seasons away from rowing, this is a lot of cartopping. Despite all of this use, the material was absolutely fine so I really didn't want to give up on it. I was thrilled to see Burnham offered this repair service. I sent it off one winter while I was off skiing and it arrived back to me in early spring, as they estimated, with new tip and tail, patch for a hold, and a spectacular new zipper. Repair That Turned Into a New Cover
My cover-to-be-repaired was misdelivered, and Burnham received a bunch of shower curtains instead. After figuring out the mix-up, and being unable to locate my used cover (which was probably delivered to some Amazon returns warehouse), Burnham made good on the problem and made me a new cover, which is beautiful! I'm convinced it will outlast my aging Maas flyweight. I love the newer and what seem like sturdier materials. So I am very happy customer.
another 10-15 years
The new zipper works great and so does the Velcro. The cover is 20 years old, I think we can get another 10-15 years out of it now.
Cover repair - great job!
Squirrels had done a number on my boat cover during the winter, and it was in rough shape, with the fabric chewed through and quilted lining destroyed in places. Burnham did an amazing job refurbishing it - it really looks almost new. It is so wonderful to be able to get something FIXED instead of throwing it away - a rare experience these days. My cover had a few worn spots in fabric and I was speaking to Peter regarding my issue and he informed me about the repair service offered. I immediately sent my cover in and within a few weeks had a nicely refurbished cover for my single. What a great service!
